DELL Server R730xd new install Proxmox version8.4 getting A1 B1 SAS cable disconnected errors

Hello,  I'm installing Proxmox on newly acquired r730xd, and have tried several times to install via iDRAC on UEFI mode (BIOS verified), and I've set up my HHD as RAID5 (again first time doing it, so not sure if this may be part of the problem) I don't see anything loose inside the server, and iDRAC panel shows all green, however, each time I tried to install I get the same errors (see screenshots). please help

Hello,

It could be SAS cable/backplane problem.

  • Power the server down completely and reseat both mini‑SAS  cables on the PERC and the backplane. Make sure they’re fully seated you should feel them click in.
  • Try swapping the two SAS cables (A - B) and boot again.
  • Double‑check that you’re using the correct Dell R730xd SAS cables. It’s very common for refurbished systems to come with the wrong pinout.
  • Confirm that the backplane is SAS/SATA, not NVMe‑only  the H730/H730P won’t work with an NVMe backplane.
  • Update the BIOS and PERC firmware using the Lifecycle Controller.

If you’re still seeing A1/B1 errors after that, replacing the SAS cables usually solves it.

@DELL-Erman O  Seems I tried those steps. Thank you!, now I got this error screen.  Still unable to boot Proxmox
