Dell R6625 NVMe cable 8x2.5

Hi! I have a R6625 server with 8x2.5 U.2 drives. I have a 755n controller installed. I need to install vSAN, but because the controller doesn't have HBA mode, I can't see the drives (I have 5 NVMe U.2 drives installed). I want to connect the backplane directly to the motherboard, as described in the instructions. Can you tell me the name of the cable kit or their part numbers?

Hello,Vladimirtdx! Thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community.

I’m a bit unclear about your question — could you clarify it once more?

1. Are you asking how to set the disks to non RAID mode?

2. When you mentioned connecting the backplane directly to the motherboard, did you mean connecting the PERC to the motherboard? For this model, the backplane is already connected to the system board with the I²C cable and power cables. Your sever should already look like the picture you gave us.

3 .Please send me your service tag here https://www.dell.com/community/en/direct-messaging

so that we can see your server’s configuration.

Respectfully,

I currently have the H755N connected to the motherboard via one connector. I want to disconnect it (and from the backplane as well) and connect the backplane directly to the motherboard, as in the diagram above.
I want to know the cable part number so I can buy them, or at least know the name of this connector. The backplane has four MCIO connectors, and the motherboard has two Slimline SAS connectors. I have a question about the two connectors in the top in photo: what cable do I need to connect to them?

Hello,

the first cable should have part number VP783 and the other cable 8RV5V.

Thanks
