Resoldering Poweredge R620 CMOS Battery Socket

Hello! I recently purchased a used Dell PowerEdge server, and upon inspection, I discovered that the CMOS battery socket is completely detached from the motherboard.

I found a tutorial that explains how to solder a replacement laptop CMOS battery as a substitute for a missing desktop CMOS socket. I’m wondering if this method could work for the PowerEdge server.

Additionally, are there any other possible fixes for this issue? I do not have the original socket or the original CMOS battery.

Thank you for your time!

I had a similar issue with a R640 a few weeks back, the battery holder was completely gone. I ordered a replacement battery holder from amazon and just soldered the new one on. Its been working fine ever since.

Did you fix your server?  I'm looking at getting a t620 that won't post because the cmos mount is broken?  Would yours at least post or am I looking at other issues?  Thx.
