R740xd NVMe not appearing on OS
Hi all,
I have a R740xd with 2 SSD drives and 4 NVMe connected with a PCIe extender card. All is ok on iDRAC, I see all drives ok, NVMe drives are on "ready" state.
I have installed Windows server 2022 and I can see virtual drive configured on H740P controller but I can't see the NVMe drives even with diskpart.
S140 is set in AHCI mode. If I set RAID mode the NVMe drives disappear from iDRAC management.
BIOS and iDRAC are updated to last version.
Someone knows how to solve it.
Regards,

Hi @DELL-Chris H ,
- Through Disks & Volumes are also not appearing so I am unable to initialize them.
- UEFI Boot mode.
- Not set Virtual disk. If I set RAID mode in BIOS SATA setting drives disappear from S140 configuration so AHCI mode is set now.
- Yes I would use H740P for 2 SAS SSD drives for system and 4 NVMe for storage. I have other servers with same configuration working

Hi,
The 4 NVMe drives are installed into which slot numbers? Also, the PCIe extender card, which PCIe slot is it installed in? Can you provide us the PCIe extender card DPN#. How many CPU are installed?
You mentioned you have other servers with same configuration, H740P installed? H740P do not support NVMe.
Based on the user guide, what are you riser configuration? https://dell.to/3CJhPzi
Also, based on the cabling guide, which best fit your server's configuration: https://dell.to/3YTLRrM
