R710 not allowing IDRAC firmware update
I have an R710 that is currently running idrac version 1.10. I found an iso image of all the newest R710 firmware
(idrac 2.92) and tried to update with that, but the idrac update fails. I also tried the older version of 1.85 and it gives the same error. I can't access the idrac web interface because it says I have the incorrect SSL protocol and I can't use the Lifecycle Controller because it keeps telling me it needs an update but it wont update.

IIRC there was a change (Cipher/Kexchange/CA whatever) around 1.15 or 1.55 ( i cant remember) which was an intermediate version.

Hello,
can you try to reset iDRAC first?

Back in 2022, I struggled updating an R710. iDRAC and the Dell packages kept failing over and over again. I went around and around trying to get iDRAC to update for days. It's been a loooong time since then so I'm light on specifics, but I looked up the text message I sent my buddy about it. (He's a pro and I am not.)
When I was finally able to update it, this is the message I sent him:
"Miraculously, I was able to update the Lifecycle Controller through iDRAC (when I was at v1.10). Then I was able to update the iDRAC firmware in a straight jump to the latest version. It's a bloody miracle."
My message indicates that I was able to update it straight from v1.10 to v2.92 after updating Lifecycle Controller. Based on that, I suggest trying to update the LC first.
