R640 iDRAC9 problems
I have an R640 with an iDRAC9. It has a problem in which the IP always responds, but SNMP/HTTPS are basically flapping - not available for hours, then available for a few minutes, up to 20-30 minutes.
I upgraded the BIOS to the latest (2.24) and the iDRAC firmware (7.00.00.181) and it actually made the problem worse. When I was able to finally get back into it, I cold reset the iDRAC. It came back up and was accessible for about an hour, then stopped allowing HTTPS again. I can SSH to it and get prompted for the RACADM login, but cannot authenticate while it's in this state.
Here is a picture of its avialability in our NMS. The wider one on the right is right after I cold-restarted it.
Anyone run into this before and know of a solution to it?
TIA

Ok - we figured it out. Turns out we had an IP conflict - someone used the iDRAC IP on something else. All is well now. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that it's a remote server, so I haven't tried factory resetting it. We have basic hands and feet, but to reconfigure the iDRAC would require me to fly to the data center its in.

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell.
3rd party tools may cause issues with the iDRAC -if you use any monitoring tools may need to increase the query time intervals. It looks like iDRAC
YoU can try downgrading iDRAC to older versions, this way iDRAC will have less features and more memory free to handle extra load.

@DELL-Young E Thank you for replying.
We have 2 of these R640s - the other server with the same upgraded BIOS and firmware are fine.
I did try disabling monitoring the other day - didn't make a difference.
I am going to try downgrade to other versions to see if that changes anything. Will update after doing so.
