PowerEdge R750xs - M.2 SDD support
I would like to upgrade my PowerEdge R750xs system with an M.2 SSD. Is it possible to switch to M.2 using a PCIe M.2 adapter?
My current setup is 3 × 2TB SAS HDD in RAID-5, and I want to upgrade it. Which method would be more reasonable?

Hmmm within a PowerEdge server its not that common to insert M.2 SSDs like in a Desktop PC or Laptop.
The Dell BOSS-S2 and later BOSS-N1 exists which is a Boot Optime Storage Solution. But the Disks are 240,480 in size with a RAID0 or RAID1(Supported on Microsoft Server, Linux, ESXi). For current Servers the N1 offer 960GB.
This is for the OS and maybe some APPs.... but not mass data.
You can insert non Dell adapter PCIE cards with a single M.2 and when messing around with PCI Bifurcation also multiple on such a PCIE card.
Notice: The "XS" server can be limited when it comes to free/usable PCIe Slots. Compared to a Non-XS the memory slots are just the half for example
