Poweredge r730xd nic question
In order to utilize my 10Gb network I purchased an Intel x540 10gbe nic. Now, I install said nic and it works however is there a way to disable the integrated and still be able to access iDRAC and have the new nic Mac show up instead of the old Mac for the integrated?

The R730xd should have a dedicated idrac port with its own mac address. It is possible to use a the integrated nic as the idrac port and it is possible to use a slotted nic as the idrac port. So if your idrac is using its own dedicated port, what you do to the other nics wont affect the idrac.

@DELL-Rey G I'd like to use the 540 nic instead of the dedicated or the onboard. When checking iDRAC I have 5 options. Dedicated, and LOM 1-4. That's it.

My apologies, I did not confirm on a system before posting that, but I agree with you, only the LOM nics are shown. I am using LOM3 for my idrac since the mac address went bad, but even then, it still shows the "bad" mac. the idrac is working fine though.

@DELL-Rey G so I'd have to run multiple Ethernet cables to access iDRAC as well as having the 10gbe network connectivity.

This probably says it best:
