Oscillant noise poweredge t440
I changed my power supply earlier this week, the fan was not spinning and there was a high-pitched noise coming out it. Now the power supply is working fine but now I have this oscillating noise that comes and goes. Even when I am restarting, I can still hear it. How do I determine where is coming from? Any ideas anyone?
The server is pretty quiet, or at least it was.

Sorry, the confusion was caused by me as I wasn't seeing the complete list, and the T440 is showing 450 and 495 watt power supplies as well. The one that you showed the image of is indeed supported, being part # YGF8T, so if the part number of the one you ordered is the same then it will be fine. The issue you have though is that the power supply you received was faulty.

GustavoMiler,
Without an example of the sound it is making it would be very difficult to isolate the issue. If you were to upload a video of the occurrence with sound we can see if we can help.

@DELL-Chris H Yes, you are absolutely right. The noise is not constant, it stopped now, but when it goes it goes for a while. Here is the link AUD-20250401-WA0001
If you cannot open perhaps, I can email it.

We aren't able to download it due to security reasons, and it wouldn't make it through our email. I would suggest uploading a cell phone video directly to the DCF page, if possible.

Yes I did, from your description of the issue, as well as the sound, to me it sounds like an issue with the power supply fan. If you have redundant power supplies you can remove the new one and see if the sound is gone, then it is a safe bet there is an issue with the new power supply.

@DELL-Chris H It is possible, I was listening closer today and it seems to be the power supply. Now, I just purchased this power supply. I will have to get another one. Can I get this from Dell? The one I have I got it from Amazon. Any help here would be appreciated.

That power supply isn't compatible with a T440.
The supported power supplies on the T440, are either an 1100 watt or the 750 watt.
You can find the 1100w one, part 450-AEBL here
I am not seeing the 750w listed on the Dell site, but the part number would be 450-AEES.

@DELL-Chris H The location is in Singapore, I have to find where in Canada we can get it. I found this one: Dell - Power supply - hot-plug ( plug-in module ) - 750 Watt - for P/N: 463-3982, 463-3990, 463-3991, 463-3992, 463-3998, 463-4004, 463-4005, 463-4014 : Amazon.ca: Electronics this is through amazon. If you can find it in North America, please let me know. Now, should I continue using this power supply? Would it damage my system?

I wouldn't use the power supply that was making noise, as it isn't supported in the system, as well as having a problem itself.
Also, I wanted tp ask what the part number is for the existing power supply, if there is another power supply in the server, or the part number for the one you bought the replacement for? I ask as we haven't confirmed what power supply it had/has.
So basically, if you have redundant power supplies in the server, then what is the part # for that other power supply installed? If you don't have redundant power supplies, what's the part number for the one you had, that you bought the replacement power supply to replace?
Lastly, the one you listed does look to have the correct part #.

@DELL-Chris H Hmmm... I am in a dilemma now, should I insert the previous one again? This is the original power supply, the one that came with the system (fan is not turning). My system has only 1 power supply. The image I am sending you reads: 495W.
Now the one I have in (new one) is identical to the original power supply. The labels read the same.
