How do I SNMP monitor CPU and Memory Utilization via iDRAC SNMP?

I'm unable to find OIDs for CPU & Memory utilization.  There are a wealth of other stats for them, but not their utilizations.  Anyone know how to get this info via SNMP?

Thanks!

Hello,

that sounds more like job for query the OS rather than the iDRAC.  The iDRAC Datacenter license also contains "Telemetry" but i have my doubt that it contains the two metrics youre looking for.

Hello, I think this question should go to the vendor of your SNMP monitoring tool that you are using.

We do share MIBs for PowerEdge servers that can be added to the 3rd party tools

"Let me do a bit of research, assuming that it even exists. I do know a fair amount of that kind of monitoring doesn't exist unless you have the iDRAC9 with the Datacenter license."

"To obtain the current CPU and memory usage of your Dell PowerEdge R930 server through the iDRAC using SNMP, you’ll need to follow a few steps to ensure everything is configured correctly. Here’s a concise guide to help you troubleshoot and retrieve the required information:"

Hope this helps.

@DELL-Young E

Thanks for responding....

This isn't an NMS issue - it's an issue of there not being OIDs (at least that I can find) for CPU "utilization" and memory "utilization".  I can find OIDs for other memory and CPU related information, but not straight up utilization %.  Not even something I can use for a calculation - like total memory, and memory used.  I've searched through the MIBs, combed through an SNMPWalk of the iDRACs, asked AI chats....just can't find the answer.

I understand that a datacenter license might be required for more 'control' over parts of memory/CPU...but why would it be required for a simple SNMP poll of 2 of the most basic pieces of monitoring?

@Origin3k Yeah - perhaps I need to get this from the OS-side.  But, I don't understand why it wouldn't be available via iDRAC.  There is a "performance" section in it that allows you to see CPU and Mem utilization....so it SHOULD be available, and you shouldn't have to pay extra for 2 of the most basic pieces of information via SNMP.

Thanks for the input!

In one of the URLs @DELL-Young E  provides,  the OIDs  1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3000.10.1.1.1.5  and  1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3000.10.1.1.1.6 are mentioned. Did you try these?

My CheckMK doenst display CPU/MEM on a iDRAC.  I'll check the OID later.

Joerg

@Origin3k My iDRAC9s are 10892.  10895 doesn't work.

In any event, I think I'm going to have to get all of this info (Disk/CPU/Mem Utilization) on the OS side.  The iDRAC SNMP monitoring appears to be mostly for 'health' vs performance.  I thought I could get disk util in there, but it turns out the util isn't for the virtual disk, it's just the RAID set.

Thanks again!

Search within the MIBs for cpu or memory returns nothing.
