Dell R730XD Split Backplane with a secondary controller HBA330

Hello!I own an R-730xd 26 slots, and I plan to split the front backplane. The goal is to split it 12/12 or if there are any other options. I have the h730p mini installed today which powers everything. port A0/B0 from the expander card goes to the h730p. Is it one of these ports that I should connect to my second controller card, or what is the right solution? I have an HBA 330 as a second controller card and should be passthuge in esxi.Do you have to disconnect the barker 2x slot backplane or leave it on and if so which controller will it be powered from?

Hello,

We don't handle configuration changes directly. Setting up your server can be a bit tricky and we're not sure if it'll work out perfectly. It can be more complicated than it seems. You can check cabling diagrams maybe it can give you an idea Dell PowerEdge R730xd Owner's Manual  But don't worry, our community is awesome they can share their experiences and give you a hand!

Okay, thanks. The question is whether I need the extra sas exender card at all. In the best of worlds, 8 slots from the front backplane go to my h730p mini, and 16 slots go to my HBA330. I don't need the rear backplane at the moment.
