Hello,

UEFI boot gets configured by OS installer

You can go to your OS vendor for support if it is not getting configured.

Dell does not support Proxmox, for your information.

But to give you an example, this is for example how Windows gets deployed.

@DELL-Young E

Hey there,

My r720 had a LSI Logic 6Gbps SAS HBA Adapter, PCI Express Gen 3. I removed it and replaced it with a Dell H710p Controller. How do I get my existing sata drives to showup on the H710p now? there are no cable connections on the H710p and it shows in the bios. Do I need to make any changes in the sata setting in the bios?

There isn't a migration path from the HBA to the H710p, as the HBA doesn't work in raid and the H710p doesn't have an HBA mode. So to start I would ensure that you have a complete backup of the data. Then with that being said what I would do is access the controller BIOS and then go to Physical Disk page and see if the drives are showing there, and if they are in a Foreign state. If they are listed there then you can clear the foreign configuration and then configured the drives as you choose, then you can go about restoring the data from backup.  If they are not listed there then it will likely be due to cabling, so if possible would you provide pictures of where the backplane cables are connected?

Lastly, would you confirm the part numbers for the H710 as well as the cables from the backplane?

Hi,

the DPN# MX3P7 description is ASSY,CBL,SAS,MB,BKPLN,3.5,R720, which mean, cable connection between backplane and the mainboard. It should be the correct cable. To confirm, this is for 3.5" HDD Backplane.
