Adding a 4 x 2.5" drive flex bay kit to a PowerEdge T630
Hello,
I want to add a 4 x 2.5" drive flex bay kit to a PowerEdge T630, but not sure what part numbers I'll need to complete this task. Will you please provide the part numbers for the drive cage, cables, backplane?, and any other components I'll need to do so? Thank you team

Hi,
Looks like you would want the configuration of Figure 6. Removing a 3.5 inch (x8) plus 2.5 Inch (x4) SAS/SATA backplane. Referring to the guide of Figure 7. Cabling—3.5 Inch (x8) plus 2.5 inch (x4) SAS/SATA backplane, you would need the backplane, SAS cable, signal cable and the bridge card.
This DPN# WYNC0 will be the drive cage and backplane assembly. DPN# G3FGM is the cable from backplane to bridge card. DPN# P31H2 is the bridge card (please refer to the user guide for PCIe slot priority). For the signal cable, I can only find the one and only cable which is DPN# KV109. I cannot confirm this is the correct cable, as such configuration is done from the factory before the server is shipped. I'm helping to gather as much information based on the user guide.

Hi,
Based on the user guide here, which configuration that you would like to add? :https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-t630/t630_om/removing-the-hard-drive-backplane?guid=guid-deb1e902-24f7-463d-83d3-6d4f616ceadb&lang=en-us
For the 4X2.5" configuration, you will not be able to use RAID capability, unless it is connected bridge to a 2.5 inch x16 SAS/SATA backplane or 3.5 inch x8 SAS/SATA backplane configuration, in reference of the user guide: Figure 4 or Figure 7.

@DELL-Joey C Appreciate it Joey. Would be connecting it to the 3.5" x8 SAS/SATA backplane. Can you please let me know which parts I'd need to install 4 x 2.5" Flex bay kit? Thank you
