What graphics cards are compatible with the Dell PowerEdge T110 server ||

Good day! I want to turn a server into a workstation. We purchased a Nvidia GT730 graphics card for better processing, not for gaming. After installing the graphics card and starting the server, the monitor displays a cursor, but approximately ten seconds later, the monitor turns off. On the post card located on the case, the lights show 1 and 2. I discussed this with colleagues, and they suggested that it might be an issue of compatibility between the graphics card and the server. If there are compatible options, please provide a response. Thank you in advance.

Hello Devayzer,

Dell did not validate any GPU for the T110. There are none listed in the parts database for the server.

This doesn't mean that one will not work, only that Dell has not validated or support one for the T110.

Maybe if other community members have tried they can share their experience.

if you want to use the GPU for video output, you need to disable the onboard graphics in the bios.

if you want to use it for compute, you cannot have any display cables connected to the gpu.

in order for a VM to be given hardware pass-though to a gpu, it cant be used for anything else anyways.

also, Nvidia's consumer gpus dont have driver support on servers most of the time, so you will likely run into issues.

I would recommend going with something in the quadro lineup, like the P600 or newer. They can be had used on ebay for low cost.

that card is pretty old, i doubt you will get any meaningful performance out of it for the power draw anyways.

If your intended use is hardware transcode, this gpu is worse than the xeon cpu, and if you want it for any kind of compute or AI learning, it has nowhere near enough vram.

curious as to what you are trying to accomplish? :)
