Server r740- Power Fail

I got a server r740, but it fails to start. PSU's are green but at the front panel of the server the power indicator is yellow and the server is not powering on. I need some tips around this because i already reset the PSU's and the problem persist.

I would take the server to a minimum to POST configuration and check for behavioral changes, then proceed to add one component in at a time until a failure is identified.

Minimum to POST for the R740:

  • One processor (CPU) in socket processor 1
  • One memory module (DIMM) in socket A1
  • One power supply unit
  • Right control panel and cable (for power button functionality)
  • System board

It looks like 35315073844 is the number you would need to contact, based on the support site output.

There is not an email address listed. Chat and phone call are how cases are initiated. There are some systems set up for email case creation, but that is per tag, there is not a queue you could email to create a new case.
