R620 excessive fan speed

Hello, currently the fans on my Dell R620 are spinning at excessive speeds 24/7 and I'm not sure why. I know it is excessive because the temperature is reading 68 degrees Fahrenheit (Yes, I'm sure it is Fahrenheit), which is very overkill if you ask me. When I go into the iDrac settings then thermal, I find High Offset in the on position, so I set it to low offset. When I save these settings, it immediately quiets down, so I think I got it, and restart the server. Next thing I know, we just about have liftoff again because those things are goin full blast even after I changed the settings. So I go back into thermal settings and low and behold, back in High Offset mode. I have tried adjusting many different things with no success, including setting the machine to maximum power savings with no luck. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Hello

The offset should be user configurable. It sounds like the iDRAC is having issues saving the configuration. I would shut the system down and disconnect power to clear volatile memory. If the issue persists then I would update or reflash the iDRAC/LCC firmware. If it still persists then reset the iDRAC configuration to defaults. This should cause the iDRAC to create a new configuration file.
