R320 system board ps2 pg fail
I currently have Dell Power Edge R320 server. This server have redundant 350W AC power supplies. May 29, an error occurred on the second power supply.
The PS2 socket of server have been reporting an error, System board PS2 PG Fail voltage is outside of range.
In order to solve the problem I powered off the system and disconnected the power cords and pressed the power button. I then re-connected the power cords and powered on the system.
The error disappeared and no longer appeared.
The LED on the power supply is solid green.
Then I turned off the power from the first power supply, the server turned off.
Is this event characterized as a failure of the power supply? And should I just replace it?
Or are there any options to restore its performance? For example, update the firmware.
Power supply Firmware Version 07.18.7F (PN:0Y8Y065)
Thank you.

Againsty,
It may be an issue with the power supply, but I would troubleshoot it more to be sure. The first thing I would suggest is powering down the server and drain the flea power again, then swap the power supplies and power the server back up. I would also make sure that the server is up to date on BIOS and iDrac, as the power supply revision you listed is current.
Let me know if the error returns, and if the error followed the power supply or if it is reporting the same as before, as well as if the server shuts down when you remove the known good one in the other slot again.

Good day!
BIOS version is 2.7.0
iDRAC7 version is 2.63.60 (Build 1)
Lifecycle Controller 2 version is 2.63.60.62
I made manipulations with power supplies as you recommended and after that in power supplies information window - PS online status is "Presence Detected, AC Lost".
After turning off the working power supply - the server shuts down.
Thank you!

Hi,
Could you check when the power cable is connected to the 'faulty' PSU, does the LED indicator lid? https://dell.to/2TY01an
Have you tried other power cables?

Hi,
I tried using the failed power supply on another R320 server.
The situation is the same:
The LED on the faulty PSU is solid green.
PS online status is "Presence Detected, AC Lost".
After turning off the working power supply - the server shuts down.

Hi,
Thanks for the tag. It seems that you have done most of narrowing down the issue root cause, since you have another R320 to test it. Also, the PSU is in it's latest firmware. Unfortunately, the PSU cannot be replaced under warranty.
