PSU1000: Power supply cable has been removed from PSU.Slot.2:Enclosure.Modular.0:NonRAID.Slot.3-1.

Recently I noticed the below errors (pics attached) on Dell PowerEdge R740XD. All system lights are green and performance is not degraded. I have performed reseating and swapping around PSU however the error persisted. Any assistance is appreciated..

Crabx,

I would start with making sure that the server is up to date on BIOS, iDrac, perc controller, as well as the power supplies themselves. After that if it continues we may look at seeing if the issue occurs under the minimum to post configuration, which is removing everything from the server internally and externally but the following;

System board

One processor in socket processor 1

One memory module (DIMM) in socket A1

Power supply unit

If the error doesn't repeat under those conditions then power down and individually start reinstalling devices until the issue reappears.

Let me know if this helps.

@DELL-Chris H Thanks for the reply. The server is up to date.

Could it be possible that faulty SMART error on a disk in the MD1200 attached to R740XD report as PSU error when it's not?

The MD1200 attached to Dell PowerEdge R740XD reported SMART Error on a disk (Physical Disk 0:0:2). The reported disk is listed under Modular.0:NonRAID.Slot.3-1. The same slot is the one included in the PSU error report. Screenshots attached below

Hello,

Could you have a maintenance window to restart the stack:

Shut down server, shut down storage

Reseat both EMM

Start storage, start server

Check results
