PowerEdge T410 dual Xeon X5560 temps/ cooling.
Hello Community,
Let me first explain the Conditions:
The server is in a smaller closet with 4 fans installed in the door. 2 low on the door(blowing right at the hard drive bays in front of the case) and 2 high on the door. In push pull configuration pulling heat from the top of the closet. The fans are connected to a controller that has a temperature probe which reads at max(while system is at idle) 25*C and will speed up/slow down depending on the temperature inside the closet.
I am running 2 Xeon x5560s at stock speeds with stock heatsink cooling.
Using HWMonitor - at idle, processor 0 reads between 39*C and 40*C and processor 1 reads between 41*C and 44*C.
Using the display on the front of the T410 to see the temperature, it reads as high as 23*C...again at idle.
While doing some research I seen that max operating temp is 81*C.
Also, I came across a heatsink with a fan for the LGA1366 socket but I am unsure if it is compatible with my motherboard.
(I want to apologize in advance if I am not supposed to link a product from other websites.)
Can anyone confirm the proper fitment of this heatsink fan? Do you think it’s necessary? Is there another solution I’m not finding or thinking of?
Thank you all for reading this long winded question. Any input is great appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
