dell server R630 Inlet Temp reach or over 42°C then CPU frequenc drop to 400Mhz
I have a dell server R630 for home use, the server room have no air-conditioner。
When the Inlet Temp reach or over 42°C CPU frequenc auto drop and limit to 400Mhz。
How can i set the temp temperature Threshold upper?
I had use ipmitool to set the warning Threshold to 46
with command: ipmitool sensor thresh "Inlet Temp" unc 46
and reboot the server, but this not work.
No Events found!

Hello,
checking in the user guide i see that there is a threshold inlet temp in the web interface.
Did you check it?

No.The threshold in the web interface is the warning threshold I have set using ipmitool for temperature warning only.
This threshold is not for the CPU frequenc lock down temperature.
By searching this problem may be relate to the BD PROCHOT temperature.
DELL server pull up cpu's BD PROCHOT signal when inlet temp over 42 °C.
I have try linux command: "wrmsr --all 0x1FC 0x2b240058"
to clear the last bit of the intel msr to disable BD PROCHOT but fail.
command run with success but the register value has not changed.

NO,I have set the Threshold using ipmitools. No effects!

The register value has not changed.

I don't see other way to modify this threshold, I think that it is not be possible to edit.
