Dell R750XS Server Not Booting, Power Module Light is On, Front Chassis LED Not Lighting Up

Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with my Dell R750XS server that is not booting up, even though the power module light is on. When I power on the server, only the power light is active, but the front chassis LED is completely off, and the monitor remains blank. There are no sounds or other indicators showing that the boot process is proceeding.

I have tried the following steps:

  1. Ensuring the power cables are correctly and securely connected.
  2. Checking for any other indicator lights or error codes on the front panel of the server.
  3. Pressing the power button several times to reboot the server.
  4. Inspecting for any issues with hardware components like RAM or HDD.

However, none of these steps have resolved the issue. Are there any additional steps I can take to diagnose this problem? Or is there a possibility of failure in the power supply, motherboard, or chassis LED connection that I should be aware of?

Hi,

I'm not sure if you have no boot or no post issue. However additionally, please also try to perform a power drain. If you reach to iDRAC please check system event logs and share with us any error or warning.

  1. Power the server down.
  2. Disconnect server from all power cables, Network cables.
  3. Hold down the power button continuously for at least 10 s.
  4. Insert power cables and network cables back to the system.
  5. Wait about 2 minutes before powering on the server for iDRAC to be initialized.
  6. Press the power button to power the system on.
