Dell R440 Inlet Temp Sensor Replacement
Hello,
We have a Dell R440 - Silver 4114 CPU that has the following error:
Events in the iDRAC indicate "The Inlet Temp Sensor is not responding or is not working properly. The status of Sensor health is critical".
I read the manual : https://dl.dell.com/content/manual43617227-dell-emc-poweredge-r440-installation-and-service-manual.pdf?language=en-us
I cannot locate anything pertaining to the inlet temp sensor, or how to replace it. I was speculating that maybe it is either built into the right control panel, behind the fans, or built into the motherboard. I was curious if it was this DP/N: 095GHY
It would appear that 'maybe' this is the sensor attached to this cable for the housing of the USBA & USBC I/O, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Hello,
The Right ear control panel does have the temp sensor.
These would be replacement part numbers for the cable to use:
Part #:D2PJF
Part Desc.:ASSY,LTCH,RACK,RT,1U,R440,V3
ASSY Latch Rack 1U, Right, Version 3, 1U
Part #:MJXTG
Part Desc.:ASSY,LTCH,RACK,RT,1U,R440,V2
ASSY Latch Rack 1U, Right, Version 2, 1U
Either will be ok to use.
