Upgrade Optiplex 7010 Tower (2012) for Windows 11 use?

Hello

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade this machine so that it meets all the specs for Windows 11. The PC is used in an office environment so doesn't need to be high spec. Just the bare minimum in order to run officially Windows 11 would be fine.

Thanks

A new Intel 300 series motherboard can be swapped in 7010 case along with Intel 8th gen cpu to meet official Win 11 requirement.  Dell offers XPS 8930 board which can be installed in 7010 case. A few mods are recommended to bypass startup error messages. Third party mATX 300 series mobo would fit too. Off the shelf front IO adapter is available for this upgrade

The CPU in that system is much too old and cannot be upgraded to at least a Generation 8 CPU. That does not mean Windows 11 cannot be installed as YouTube is full of videos explaining the process for installation on systems that do not meet the required specs. If used in an office environment I would recommend upgrading to a much newer more powerful Windows 11 based system.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering about the possibility of a new motherboard and hence CPU that would be compliant. I am familiar with upgrading to Windows 11 on unsupported hardware. However, I am cautious about doing this in a business environment for security reasons.

This is a duplicate post and the answer lies in your other post here. Briefly that would be no.

@redxps630 - Great many thanks. That is what I was curious to find out. Good to know it is an option at least.
