Storage combination M.2 Drives

I have a Dell OptiPlex 7070 micro with a 256 GB M.2 Drive. As I'm running out of space I want to clone the drive to a 1TB M.2 Drive via DD and GParted. I have installed the 1TB M.2 Drive on an M.2 SSD to SATA adapter and plugged into the SATA port.

However the second drive is not recognised in BIOS. Looking at the storage combinations in the user manual I see this but I'm not sure whether my config corresponds to this. Is my setup not supported?

Is the new M.2 drive SATA?  An M.2 NVMe drive won't work on a SATA adapter.

@ejn63 Thank you. It's an NVMe M.2 drive so that's the reason it didn't recognise it

@HedgeFundManager Yeah might look into that as the current adapter doesn;t support the NVMe M.2 drive

fleabay has M.2 NVMe USB boxes with USB-C

they are good for old M.2 SSD which can be repurposed as backup storage etc
