Optiplex Micro 7020, resoultion not displaying correctly with LG 34" UltraWide Monitor
I have a Dell Optiplex Micro 7020, when I plug in my LG 34" UltraWide Monitor (model# 34WQ500-B) the resolution is off. If I use the HDMI cable I cannot even set to the correct resolution of 2560 X 1080. If I use the other display cable, I can set to this resolution but the screen is diminished with black bars across the top and bottom. It's like half the screen isn't being used. I can make it display with a lower resolution and a higher percentage, but the programs on the screen are very distorted. How can I make this work? Or would I just have to get a different screen completely?

Same here. Bought a display port cable instead of using the HDMI cable that came with the monitor. Problem solved!

I have spent all day troubleshooting this and found the problem. The 7020 micro HDMI port is 1.4 which only supports a max resolution of 1920 x 1200. No ultrawide support. The manual stated this fyi.
You need to get a standard non ultrawide monitor.
