Optiplex 7090 Hard Drive runs extremely hot

I've got an Optiplex 7090 that came with a NVMe Timetec MS10 SSD and I've added an 8TB 3.5" HDD (WD8002FZWX-00BKUA0) to the bay above the optical drive for backup purposes.  Since I installed the HDD it constantly runs hot, over 140 degrees per CrystalDiskInfo.  Lately it seems to be making vibration related noise, a possible harbinger of imminent failure.  I'm thinking there doesn't seem to be a very good air flow around the drive with just the exhaust fan at the back of the tower.  I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced heat problems with this HDD bay location.  Also, looking at the sticker on the inside of the side cover it looks like a second HDD could also be added and the picture seems to indicate it would hang vertically against the front grill.  That location might have better airflow but the service manual doesn't seem to reference this mounting position and it's not clear what carrier would be used to mount the HDD in this position.  If anyone has insight to my HDD overheating issue I'd be grateful for your comments.

I'm betting it's a bad HDD.  I have 2 HDD storage drives in enclosures.  Not even any vents.  They get warm, which is normal, but certainly not hot.

Hopefully you have the important stuff backed up outside the PC.  I'd get the important or all of the files off of that HDD and replace with a different one.
