OptiPlex 7060 doesn't POST with new monitor

I'm running an OptiPlex 7060 with all BIOS updates applied. I got a new Asus ProArt monitor. The 7060 will not POST if the new monitor is the only one connected. No BIOS splash screen, can't enter BIOS, no disk activity LED. The power LED comes on and the fan spins, but nothing else. If I push the power button, it shuts off immediately. If it was getting farther through the boot process and just not displaying anything, I would expect to have to hold the power button for several seconds to get it to shut off.

If I connect an older monitor as the only monitor, it boots properly. If I connect an older monitor as a secondary, it boots.

I'm thinking there is some manner of incompatibility between the video the monitor will work with and what the computer wants to output during POST. The 7060 has two DisplayPort video outputs, no VGA, no HDMI. Changing which port the monitor is connected to doesn't make a difference.

Any thoughts?

What happens if you switch out the monitors after post?

Does everything display right and it work properly?

what graphics card do you have too for the 7060?  Is it the built in intel?

Just using the built-in Intel graphics. Monitor 1 is the Asus, Monitor 2 is an old 19" Dell.

If monitor 1 is the only one connected, the system won't POST. If monitor 1 AND monitor 2 are connected, it POSTs properly, boots as expected, and both displays work. I haven't tried booting with only monitor 2, then disconnecting it and connecting monitor 1, but I'm guessing that would work since it works with both connected during POST.

The only problem is getting the system to boot with only monitor 1 connected. Given available desk space, that's the goal, but I'm stumped.

How much disk space do you have?

1TB drive with about 200GB used. Disk space isn't the problem.
