Optiplex 3000 USFF with widescreen Dell S3425dw
I'm trying to connect a widescreen monitor (Dell S3425DW) to a 3 year old Optiplex 3000 micro (i5-12500T / UHD 770). The only screen resolutions I'm given are typical 4:3. Using DisplayPort on the Optiplex (connected to HDMI on the monitor) I can select 3840 x 2160, which is higher than the resolution of the panel (3440 x 1440), so the hardware can generate enough pixels... I've tried installing native Intel drivers and a monitor driver file with no success. BIOD and other drivers up to date with up to date Windows 11.

That is because the rear HDMI port is 1.4b. Only the optional HDMI port is 2.0. Otherwise, use the higher bandwidth DisplayPort 1.4b for higher resolution.

@Chino de Oro as my post says, I'm using the DisplayPort, but that is not giving me the widescreen resolution options.

Besides checking the Intel Graphics Command Center for refresh rate options, review the monitor OSD menu for adaptive sync or any settings that may affect Quad HD 3440 x 1440 resolution.
