Migrating from Windows XP to Linux Lite 7.4

I recently converted a Dell OptiPlex 760 SFF running Windows XP with 4GB of RAM and 1TB HDD to a Linux Lite workstation.  I thought I would share the experience with the Dell community as this is a way to extend the life of your Optiplex 760.  Originally, this computer was used by my wife to run Windows XP embroidery sofware for her Husqvarna Viking sewing machine.  When she quit embroidery, I decided to convert the machine to Linux.  I picked Linux Lite as it is designed to support minimal hardware configurations.  I am an experienced Linux user, and I had no trouble installing Linux Lite 7.2.  Peformance was OK, but there was a lag any time the machine accessed the hard drive.  So, I backed-up the system with Rescuezilla, added 4 GB of RAM, and replaced the HDD with a Samsung 870 1 TB SSD. I reloaded Linux Lite 7.2 and restored the Rescuezilla backup.  Performance improved substantially!  I also updated the BIOS to the latest version.  Next I replaced the Optical DVD with another Samsung 870 1 TB SSD.  I then upgraded the RAM from 8GB  to 16 GB by replacing the 4X2 GB UDIMMs with compatible 4X4 GB UDIMMs.  Linux Lite "sees" and is using all of the memory.  So, I now have a 16GB Linux Lite small form factor desktop with 2 TB of fast SSD internal storage!  It runs like a charm ...
