Is the H500EPM-00 compatible with the optiplex 7070 SFF
I wanted to upgrade the psu of the optiplex 7070 SFF
But I try the L460EBM-00 and even if the dimensions and pinouts match, cpu fan goes 100% and pc starts beeping as soon as I turn it on
Seller said I had to return it and I did it since I only had 6 days to do so and I couldn’t make it work
But I really want a higher-wattage PSU, and back then I didn’t think of a BIOS update as a solution, I have since updated it to the latest version so what do you think
either that or D500EPM/L500EPM variants should work?
Some user here said ideally one should use PSUs with a single 4-pin for the cpu, not two 4-pin like the 360-500 W variants

Also validated for 7070 SFF?
Thanks, I was indeed looking for your expertise as you pointed out the 6+4 vs the 6+4+4 differences in DELL PSU connectors

In one of the threads you mentioned, mponce12 said:
"The power power supply Y7R0X and 5K7J8 only go to models that are 80 series and higher. They will not work with anything lower. I know because I have sold a ton on Ebay and we get returns from people trying to use them in machines that are below an 80 series. They will appear dead when they hook them up and we get them back and they are totally fine. Its the power supplies with the purple and gray wires that go to the new models."
Maybe the 12V wires on the main 6-pin connector differ???
I am indeed looking to buy a Y7R0X or chicony-made H500EPM-00 (I don't know why the difference in part numbers)

MT SFF psu are interchangeable in most models with a few exceptions (such as 3080 MT vs SFF). 7070 MT and SFF motherboard both have 6+4 pin socket.
Y7R0X is made by a specific psu maker
H in the H500 is for Chicony

@redxps630 the H500EPM-00 having multiple 12VA rails with a standby current of 1.5A and not 0.5A like the stock PSU doesn't make a difference in the operation of the machine?

stock psu is 200W. no need to be concerned of 1.5 A vs 0.5 A standby

this user validated Y7R0X in 5060 SFF which is not that different from 7070 SFF. 5060 SFF stock psu is also 200w.
