How does one reach dell support to ask why they are publishing different BIOS for linux vs windows for Optiplex desktops?
I just want to ask them to clarify what is happening here: https://github.com/fwupd/firmware-dell/issues/216
Are the BIOSes pushed for linux yet not on the official dell support site valid and the official site is lagging behind? Or these needs to be pulled by Dell from linux because they are incorrect? Or something else?
Support can't be reached as my service tag expired 6 months ago.

To reach Dell Support, click on Get Help Now button on lower right of this screen or through Dell Support site https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/products
You may request one time software paid support for out of warranty service.

@Chino de Oro Thanks, but I obviously won't be paying just to be able to notify Dell that their system is potentially pushing out unvalidated code to their users. Or to just ask a question from them to confirm that those BIOSes which are not present on the official site are valid.

Am not working for Dell. Only assist you to resolve your query of this thread, how to reach Dell Support.
As for customers, I suggest to get drivers and firmware directly from Dell Support site when needed. For example of OptiPlex 3080, get it from here https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-us/product/optiplex-3080-desktop/drivers
From what I understand, BIOS firmware is for the supporting system hardware, not for the operating systems. Therefore, thinking and comparing between BIOS release schedule for Linux and Windows didn't sound right. Besides Dell drivers and updates release schedule, a Dell Support agent may not have the knowledge about specific issue or change in schedule to assist you neither.
As for Dell posted general schedule, the releases for functional updates will be on odd months (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov) and the releases for security updates will be on even months (Feb, Apr, June, Aug, Oct, Dec).
Updates that are released on Dell.com/support on the second Tuesday of every month will generally appear in Dell Applications such as Dell Command | Update, Dell Update, Alienware Update, SupportAssist, and Dell Custom catalogs on the second Friday of every month.
As for businesses and enterprises, updates that are released over the Dell Business Client Catalog will generally be released on the fourth Tuesday of every month. For Dell Command | Deploy Driver Packs, see Driver Pack Release Schedule.
For any issue or problem drivers/firmware, patches will be released on next updates or as soon as they could without any specific date on the general schedule.
