Can i upgrade the cpu of an Optiplex 3050 Micro? And if so, what are my options?

I may be getting an optiplex 3050 micro soon and it has an I3 6100T processor. I want to potentially upgrade this, but i don't know if i can or what my upgrade options are. Does anyone know? Any help is appreciated

There are options, but they'll all be of 6th generation -- so no Windows 11 support.

If you're looking long term, it'd be better to purchase an 8th gen or newer system.

There are some 7th gen CPUs supported -- up to the i7-7700T, which is the fastest one you will find for the system.

Because of its form factor you need the -T CPUs (low-power 35W).  The standard desktop i7-6xxx and 7xxx CPUs are not supported.

Read through that thread.
