7070 Tower, M.2 A+E NIC card RJ45, does this use PCIe lane eliminating the PCIe x1 slot availability
If the M.2 A+E connector is used for a NIC card RJ45 for networking, does this use up the PCIe lane of the PCIe x1 connector eliminating the ability to also use the PCIe x1 slot for another purpose?

The use of M.2 slot for NIC card should not interfere with PCIe x1 slot. Running some calculations and you will see that except for the 16 PCIe lanes from graphics slot, PCIe x16 was wired to CPU, all others slots are wired to PCH (chipset), which, the Intel Q370 supports up to 24 PCIe lanes.

Wow, excellent analysis, I would never have known to calculate the lanes that way.
I am having an almost daily random disconnect, using Windows 11. I've seen the problem commented on online, and there never are any real answers. What a royal pain. The machine has to be cold booted to get it back running. It won't even log out or shut down.
I'm hoping that a new network card might help. Would like to do the m.2 type just to try something new for me, but I guess it would be easier to just plug a card into the x1 slot.
