Warranty check asking for proxy configuration?
Im getting an error stating:
"Error - Your proxy setting was not provided and OpenManage Integration requires a proxy to run the warranty task."
I have read that this is just an internet lookup request and we dont have a proxy to get out to the internet.
Is this something that needs to be setup on my firewall even though it sounds like the warranty check just uses port 80 and port 80 is already open?
Im a bit lost on how to troubleshoot this.

This seems to be a little bug. In version 3.1.0.134 I found out a quickfix.
In Dell Management Center settings/HTTP Proxy, choose edit and setup a dummy proxy.
Tick "Use Proxy", apply and choose test. That will fail of course.
Choose edit again and untick "Use Proxy" and apply.
After that it works for us.

I am having the exact same problem with OMIVV v3.1. We do not use a proxy server for Internet connectivity. The firmware downloads seem to work fine, so I'm not sure why warranty checks are not working. It would be great if Dell could comment on this.

As a matter of fact, I just waited a few days and the warranty check started working automagically. I have my warranty check job set to run at 4:00am every day. My prediction is that Dell's servers or network was down at 4am (or frankly, maybe ours was down), so it took a few days to run. Seems to be working OK now.

Found a solution ! Or should I say a work around. I downloaded and setup WinGate proxy server, the free version on another server and configured the proxy settings to use that server. The self test passed in the proxy configuration, and triggering a warranty job gave me a successful completed job with current warranty info.
Dell needs to get this fixed.
