Virtual Drive Found but Server respond as not drive was found
Hello,
We have a Power Edge 2900 server with 4 HDD in RAID 10.
Span 0 - Two HDD (one 146GB one 300HB (i dont know why and the most curious thing is it has a tag like a 300GB drives come there where the rest of the Slot has 146GB tag) There is a RAID 1 on this span
Span 1- Two HDD both 146GB in RAID 1
There is RAID 0 between the two Span, yesterday the problem was having troubles like it dont recognize the Virtual hard drive, and the RAID was degraded, I removed the slot showing "missing" in the raid configuration thinking the hard drive was bad, let the server working qith only 1 HDD on span 0 and 2 HDD on span 1.
Today i bought the HDD (300 GB 15rmp the same model as the broken one) after change it the Raid start to rebuild but it fails and the server start displaying HDD 0 Fails, scaring me to the hells because looks like the only HDD working on Span 0 got troubles too.
This make me thing, If the span 0 was a RAID 1 and 1 HDD was missing in the configuration then that span was working with only 1 hdd and got the new problem make me thing that hard drive has problems too what breaks the raid 0 configuration and loose our entire File System.
I really need advices here, there is information of the bussines for more than 8 years here.

Hello,
We have a power dell 2900 server with 4 HDD in RAID 10
Span 0: Has 2 HDD in RAID 1
Span 1; Has 2 HDD in RAID 1
There is a RAID 0 between the both SPAN
Yesterday the server was displaying error like not hard drive found.
I checked the server and saw a degraded raid, all my lights where greens, I remove the missing HDD was in SPAN 0 and bought a new one (in that time the server was working with only 1 HDD on Span 0). Before insert the new HDD the server start failing again, I insert the new HDD and try to rebuild the raid and its fails at 30% and display that HDD 0 Fails on the Server Chasis Screen. I'm *** scare i loose the only hdd working on span 0 that could lead me to loose all my information.
There are over 6 years of bussiness information on that server is a critical issues. Any help will be thanksfull a lot.

Hello,
We sadly loose our raid system, i had to buy new disk and create a new raid, but we did backups in our power vault tape. I suppose the server came with disk to restore from a critical situation from the tape, but i cant find the original disk.
So, i need directions where to download utitlity cd/dvd that i can use to restore from the tape to my raid and also if its possible a manual o instructions how to do it.
I have been reading around, i was not here when the vault was setup so if it has any password there is anyway to avoid it (i mean the vaul backup and the machine are matched and the password could be avoided, there is something that dell could do for us in case password is necessary) or maybe all this idea about the password is because i dont have idea what im talking about.
Any directions will be greatly appreciated
