Server stuck in boot loop.

This is a PowerEdge R210II.

It stopped responding once today (monitor went black) so I turned off and then back on. It was fine.

Then it happened again but this time turning off/on didn't work.

I unplugged the power cable and then held the power button for 30 seconds, turned it back on and now it is stuck in a reboot loop.

It turns on, then flashed these lights on the front:

3 4

1 3 4

1 2

and then turns back off - back on and keeps cycling the same lights.

I checked the owners manual and see that 3 4 means memory failure so I'm hoping it is just one of the RAM went bad and I can replace it and all will be fine.

I will try that soon and see what happens. What else can I check?

Thanks I did do that but it was still failing to boot.

Called paid support and while on the phone tried doing it again... and then it started working fine.

Not sure why.

The Dell tech ran a report but the only error which showed in the logs is:

System software event: Description: System BIOS shadow failed. Date and time of action: Wed Jun 14 00:28:00 2017

This event appeared multiple times at the time of the boot failures and also a few times since May during what I assume are system reboots.

We updated the BIOS and a some firmwares.

I placed all the RAM back in and the system seems fine now. Hopefully stays that way.

I'm still not exactly sure what caused it to fail in the first place but all the hardware is showing up green on OMSA so perhaps it will not reoccur.
