R420 iDRAC issue
On reboot - my R420 (Asset Tag: ) is stuck at the iDRAC screen with following warning: "iDRAC initialization error. Continuning to boot may yield unexpected power loss due to unknown power inventory and various features lost such as Remote Access, Active Power Management, Thermal Management, Inventory, LCD, or System Error Reporting." I strike F1 to continue and then it gives a warning "SWC 0700, iDRAC not ready." Again, I strike F1 to continue. Windows comes up fine and the server is running. I can not ping the iDRAC however and don't know why it keeps hanging each reboot on the iDRAC. In Dell OpenManage, I have 2 warnings related to the storage service. One is related to firmware version 21.1.0-0007 is older than the required firmware version 21.3.2-0005 for a controller of model 0x1F34: Controller 0 (PERC H710P Mini). The other is current driver version 5.01.118.64 (megaraid_sas) is older than the required driver version 6.803.21.00 (megaraid_sas) for a controller of model 0x1F34: Controller (PERC H710P Mini). I don't know if the warnings in OpenManage are related to the iDRAC. I don't see any warnings or messages about the iDRAC in OpenManage.

The issue is normally seen when you repeatedly reboot the server. What we can do is to remove power, and the auxiliary power allowed to drain from the system board. To do so remove power cords from all Power Supplies for one minute, while doing so then hold the power button down for 20 seconds. After that then update the iDRAC firmware to newer than 1.31.30 to address this issue
