PowerEdge T320 Error Code
Hello All,
I have a PowerEdge T320. Operating system is VMware. Server has been in production for 3+ years without any problems.
Recently, the server has started randomly rebooting. I have not been on site yet to catch it happen in person, so I am not sure of what is going on when it reboots. However, it does fully reboot on its own, back into VMware.
After this happens, there is an error on the front LED display - Error CPU1 0000 Internal Error - contact support.
I shutdown the machine and did a cold start. All boot level diagnostics pass with no errors. I ran the diagnostics tests from the Lifecycle tool.
The diagnostics returned error code 2000-0251
Validation 127839
Msg: Event Log - The log contains failing records
Technical Support will need this information to diagnose the problem. Please record the above Error and Validation codes.
I did some research and can't seem to find a root cause behind this error, other than people have replaced system boards, CPUs, memory and some have success, others do not.
Is there any way to get more information on this error when testing? I ran thorough diagnostics against the CPU and it passed all tests. I don't mind ordering a spare part if I can diagnose what the problem is, but if I'm going to be playing a game of trail and error, I'd rather just invest the time and money into a new server.
Thank you for any advice,
Mike

Hi,
It is a generic error that as you found can be caused by almost anything. If there are not any other errors in the logs pointing to something more specific you can just clear the logs and see if it comes back, it may have just been a random error and nothing to worry about.
