PowerEdge R310 will not list hard drives during Windows Server 2008 x86 installation
I am trying to install Windows Server 2008 x86 (32-bit) on my Poweredge r310. When the installation reaches the dialogue where you select the hard drive to install the OS on, the box is blank, not listing any of the 4 hard drives that are in the machine.
The hard drives all show up on the configuration utility menu (ctrl+r on during boot), in the RAID 5 array like they are supposed to be.
I have already tried downloading the Dell Perc H700 Adapter firmware from the Dell website, and extracting the files into a directory on a USB flash drive. I would then connect this to the Poweredge for the OS installation, and on the blank hard drive select screen click "Load Drivers" and direct to the folder on the USB into which I extracted the files. This returns an error message that says "Load Driver: No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK".
I'm pretty sure that I am using the correct driver, as "Dell Perc H700..." is displayed at the top of the page configuration utility page, but I could be wrong. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong here or direct me to the correct driver?
Thanks.

Hi,
Try using the hard drive package and extracting it. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=GHM76&fileId=3176100575&osCode=WLHS1&productCode=poweredge-r310&languageCode=en&categoryId=SF

Extracting the hard drive package to USB flash drive worked perfectly.
Thanks!
