MEMORY Upgrade on Dell R210 (not version II)
Hello
I wanted to upgrade the quantity of RAM in two dell R210 servers. Dell told me that they did not have any replacements in stock, so I asked if
would be compatible. I was assured many times that it would be. When I power up, the ram is available (16GB) however on boot up, it says
No Events found!

is this why the message about the F1 key is happening? or is it something else?

I upgraded, based upon dell's recommendation, the R210 server (66GM3P1) memory with

While it seems to be recognized, on BOOT up, the system says that no thermistor was found and this is non-ecc memory and asks for F1 key strike. Once I strike the F1 key, all seems fine. However, if no one is available, the server will not boot and waits forever. Any suggestions???
Thanks

sorry got cut off
It says, on boot up,
Non-ECC DIMM detected on DIMM A3
Non-ECC DIMM detected on DIMM A4
Thermal sensor not detected on DIMM A3
Thermal sensor not detected on DIMM A4
Then Strike the f1 key to continue, F2 to run the system setup program.
It waits forever, so is there anything that I can do?

Hi,
The memory doesn’t match, the original memory is ECC and the new memory is non ECC. You can mix but you will get that error.

Thanks, Josh
If this is the source of the error is it serious enough to remove the memory that is not exactly the same? It seems to register 16GB memory once it boots. Or, can I inhibit the break-on-error function and ignore it? THank you.

In the system BIOS you can turn off the F1/F2 prompt on error and just ignore it.
