iDRAC version

When TLS 1.1 and 1.2 is enabled the NIC goes offline. I'm pretty sure it's an iDRAC firmware issue. How do I identify my iDRAC firmware level? Tag J3QV4V1 PowerEdge R610

Also can you tell me what iDRAC version it shipped with and is there an update for this model?

I tried to go to the web interface by typing in the IP of the NIC but I end up at the IIS screen. Any advice?

As far as I know there is no IP for the iDRAC. How would I find that out? Is there a default one?

During the boot I hit CTRL E and got into the iDRAC utility(1.60). My iDRAC is (1.85.03). The NIC is set for shared yet I cannot get into the web interface.

Is there a way to upgrade the firmware from a reboot?

Is there a document to explain using the iDRAC utility?

There are two versions of iDRAC firmware - one for Blade servers (modular) and one for standard rack servers (monolithic).

How do I tell which one I have?

Web interface does not work. Can I run the following?

Dell iDRAC Monolithic Release 2.85

File Name:  ESM_Firmware_J7YYK_WN32_2.85_A00.EXE

Importance: Recommended

Description: Update Package for Microsoft® Windows® (61.27 MB)

Release Date: 10 Feb 2016

Just run this? Would it be wise to run it from SAFE MODE?

Is there a fall back incase the firmware ends in an error?

We don't use the DRAC. Since it's in share mode, can I turn off the LAN interface to allow us to disable TLS1.0?

A response would be greatly appreciated. Can we just turn off the LAN portion of the iDRAC? Or if we do the upgrade can I use the recommended download by Dell and just run the .exe file?

Thanks,

Larry
