Cannot initialize IDRAC
I have a PowerEdge R320 (running Windows 2008 R2 64bit) that I just replaced the HDD. Before replacing the HDD, I updated the storage firmware and drivers. After the updates, I received the errors. I also noticed that the fans were spinning loud. I was able to press F1 and continue with normal booting. The server booted into Windows, but the fans are spinning really loud.
I updated the BIOS, powered down the server, unplugged the power cords and held the power button down for 15 seconds. After powering up the server the fans were quiet, but as soon as the server attempted to initialize the iDRAC, the fans start spinning and I get the initialization errors.
Here are the errors I get:
"Warning! iDRAC initialization error. Continuing to boot..." - Press F1 or F2 for system setup.
Press F1
"SWC0700: iDRAC is not ready. The configuration values cannot be accessed." - Press F1, F2 for setup or F11 for Boot Menu
Press F1
Boots into windows.
I also attempted to update the iDRAC but the updates will not install. I don't even believe I have an iDRAC card installed and was looking at uninstalling iDRAC apps/modules/services. I found in one of the setup screens that it lists iDRAC settings are not ready, but it shows version 1.65.65.04
Thanks in advance for your support.
William.

Thanks Robert. I'll try this in a couple of days and will let you know if this works.

Robert, I cleared the NVRAM but that did not solve the issue. I still have the same errors and the fan is spinning loud. I confirmed that there is no iDRAC card installed so I'm not sure why it's stuck on trying to initialize it. Should I buy a card or rollback the firmware and driver?
