RFID Technology

Can anyone tell me how to block scans from a handheld barcode scanner with computer using RFID technology? My laptop is being scanned and the information sold. How do I avoid this while using my computer?

Hi kingskid.cookie,

Thanks for posting.

I'm not sure how this could be possible as I'm not aware of RFID technology included inside our Dell laptops.  Could you please post the model and operating system you're using?  Thanks.

Regards,
Robert

kingskid.cookie,

A computer using RFID Technology usually has software for the scanner and the computer to communicate. I would suggest that you find the software program. The software program can usually be removed in the control panel, programs and features. I know WMS uses RF Technology to send the information scanned to the computer for inventory control.

I would also look to see if your system has any programs like, Team Viewer, LogMeIn or any other similar program.

Have you scanned thoroughly for malware recently?

If you suspect malware, you might want to sign up at spywarehammer.com for FREE malware removal. Many of the experts over there are also members of the Dell forum and can help you check your system for malware and help you remove it.

Be sure to read the FAQs on their site before making your first post over there, and be sure to include the exact PC model, version of Windows, and details about the problem you're having.

A computer with TEMPEST certification would rule out any RF scanning.
