Repeated Failures to Post Replies
Over the past week or so there have been multiple occasions where I finished composing a reply and hit the blue Post button, but after about 15-20 seconds the entire contents of the WYSIWYG editor disappear and the following "Failed to create comments. Please try again" message appears briefly.

This just happened again while I was trying to post in Helin1's topic Booting process too slow in the SupportAssist for PCs board. When this failure occurs I remain logged in to forum (i.e., it doesn't appear my login times out while I am composing the reply) and there is no draft message saved in my user profile I could use to recover at least part of my reply.
I have had other intermittent problems in the past week with forum response times when logging in, refreshing a web page, etc. where the web page just seems to hang for a long time or doesn't respond at all.
Are these slow response time / timeout issues on the forum currently a known issue? I use Firefox as my default browser, but testing with another browser could be inconclusive or take several days since this is an intermittent problem.

Hi
"" In some instances, the reply fails to post and does not save. I’d recommend making an offline copy for now on notepad or a sticky note so you don’t loose what was typed out.""
Known Issue.
I know about it and have experienced it.

We are aware. Dell trouble tickets issued.
I always compose in Notepad. What sometimes works for me when I get that error after clicking Post. I wait 30 seconds, then press Ctrl F5 refresh and my Reply then appears. Using Chrome browser.

Hi anne_droid / DELL-ChrisM2 :
Thanks for letting me know this is a known issue.
I also compose my posts in Notepad first and then copy and paste the text into the forum WYSIWYG editor to save time. In most cases it only takes me a few minutes to fix the formatting (e.g., breaks between paragraphs, bullet points, etc.) and add any hyperlinks and/or images to my post.

Hi DELL-ChrisM2 :
FYI, I tried posting in Helin1's topic Booting process too slow again about an hour ago using my Firefox browser an got another "Failed to create comments. Please try again" message.
I just went back to that topic to try a third time to see if your "Ctrl F5" refresh trick would work but was surprised to see my reply <here> was finally posted. I wonder now if one of my attempted posts was temporarily stuck in moderation and the "Failed to create comments ..." error message was just a red herring.
EDIT:
Got a "Failed to create comments. Please try again" error message for this post as well. "Ctrl F5" had no effect but reloading the page from my browser did cause the post to appear.

It sounds like a frustrating issue, especially when you’ve spent time writing a detailed reply and it just disappears. I’ve seen similar behavior in web apps where the editor session expires or the request times out before submission completes.
Since you mentioned slow response times as well, this could be related to:
You might try:
I’ve experienced something similar while testing a Quiz App, where longer input sessions caused silent failures due to expired tokens, even though the UI looked active.
If this is happening to multiple users, it’s likely a backend or forum-side issue rather than your system.

Hi
Still hit and miss.
But no real problems, I boomerang back and try again.

Hi DELL-Nat M:
I created a new reply today <here> in the SupportAssist for PCs board and it posted correctly.
My "Failed to create comments ..." error messages have been intermittent (and I don't post in this forum every day) so I'm not going to mark this topic as Solved until I'm confident this problem is fixed for both anne_droid and myself. I'll post back if I have any more issues logging in and/or posting in the forum.

Hi DELL-Nat M:
I might have spoken too soon.
I just tried to kudo a reply <here> by cleaningsystem but clicking the "Thumbs up" icon on their post multiple times did not appear to have any effect. After reloading the page a few times, however, I could see my kudo had actually been applied.
EDIT:
The problem definitely as NOT been fixed. I got another "Failed to create comments. Please try again" error message when I tried to post this reply. However, reloading the page did cause the post to appear.

Just adding a useful data point based on your own observation that the post actually appears after a page reload, this looks like a classic server-side success with a client-side timeout. The backend is accepting and saving your comment, but the success response isn't reaching the browser fast enough, so the editor incorrectly shows the "Failed to create comments" error even though the post was successful.
A few things that may help isolate it on the Firefox side while Dell investigates:
Hopefully the backend tickets get resolved soon.

@lmacri
Yeah, I didn’t have any issues for a few hours this morning, but I’m having trouble posting again now. I haven’t heard back from the team investigating this yet, unfortunately.
Thank you so much for continuing to help our users despite these issues, we really appreciate it.

Hi DELL-Nat M:
I was able to log in and post two replies yesterday on 09-May-2026 without any issues, but I suspect this has something to do with the fact that my user badge suddenly jumped several levels from Opal / Level 3 (earned 24-Apr-2025) to Zambian Emerald / Level 5 Journeyman (earned 02-May-2026). This sudden promotion in rank is likely the same reason why my replies are no longer automatically sent to moderation for review each time I post as they have been for the past few weeks.
I read DELL-Daniel V's 06-May-2026 Updated Badges! but I'm fairly certain I don't actually qualify for a Zambian Emerald badge (i.e., I doubt 25 of my replies have been tagged as "Good Troubleshooting") so it's possible one of the Forum Admins manually changed my user level to test how it affects my ability to post in the forum.
I logged in to the forum twice today on 10-May-2026 and encountered a glitch I've seen before where the "eye" icon to show my password is incorrectly displayed as text instead of an icon ....
... and there were several periods where the forum would become unresponsive and time out with a 404 error if I browsed to a new page, so there are still bugs in the forum software that need to be fixed.

@lmacri Hi!
We are reviewing this internally. It looks like the Zambian Emerald badge was automatically assigned to some users even though they hadn’t met the requirements.
Regarding your rank movement from Journeyman 3 to 5, that is correct. This rank is based on reaching a certain number of accepted solutions, which you achieved.
You may start seeing more rank progression going forward, as @DELL-Daniel V has recently enabled the points-based system for our community.
