(Redirected) will 1320c fail to complete installation if ink is low?

I just bought a second hand 1320c and was aware it needed toner.  Before I go ahead and buy new toners, however, I want to make sure the printer will install properly.  I can't seem to proceed, however, because the caution light is flashing regarding the ink levels.  Is this normal?  Will the installation always fail if the toner isn't sufficient or do I have a duff printer?
