(Redirected) Motherboard Upgrade Question

I have a question for you experts. I have a Dell Studio 1735. It runs great but extremely slow. The most ram I can put in it is 4 gigs unless I update the mobo with a 1737 board which will give me a 8 gig max and plenty more speed.

So my question is , Can I change these boards out without running into lots of trouble. I am hoping to use the same processor but add two 4gig memory sticks and maybe another 1TB drive.

All help is appreciated. And thanks in advance.

Its probably more hassle than its worth. If you want to significantly boost its performance replace the mechanical HDD with a SSD.
