(Redirected) Dell C1765NFW MFP Laser Printer
We have repeatedly contacted Dell to ask for assistance in removing the memory in the above mentioned printer. We have 2 of these printers that were purchased in 2014, and just out of warrantee, that broke. As we follow HIPAA guidelines we cannot throw them out without removing any residual memory. Upon repeatedly contacting multiple people in Dell support, we were told that we needed to purchase a new maintenance contract in order for them to tell us how to remove the memory of the broken printers. This is ridiculous. We are a non-profit organization with funding coming from the State of New Jersey. We have ordered all of our computer equipment reclusive through Dell for 10 1/2 years. We have been a loyal customer. This one time where we ask for a simple request of how to remove the memory from these broken printers, they won't assist unless we PAY for a maintenance contract on equipment that is BROKEN. Doesn't make sense and is a poor way of doing business; especially, with a non-profit organization.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated. We just need to know how to remove the "residual" memory of the printer to ensure that no confidential information is retained in the printer. Thank you!
