Problem using the Forum software macro function

Hi folks - it makes good sense to give details of your computer system, when posting or replying to messages.

I read how to do that in the Help section, by creating a macro - which is simple enough.

My problem is, that after creating a post/reply, I click the Macro button, then select the macro I named - but then nothing happens! No text is imported into my message!

These are the steps in the Help section:-

To add your boilerplate text to a post:
    Go to a post.
    In the comment area, place your cursor where you want to add the boilerplate text.
    Open the Macros menu and select the macro you want to add.

I've had to add my macro file contents here by hand !
