How do you earn points to rank up? Simple! Just engage on the forum as you normally would. Create a topic, reply to someone, receive a like, or be marked as the solution to an issue. While we won't disclose how many points you get for each action, they should add up relatively quickly as you participate on the forum.

Along the way you'll be able to earn badges. These are fun ways to show off your achievements! Badges are fully visible in your profile page and you can read the description for how to earn a certain badge. You can also view them here. Additional rewards will be available as you level up as well (more to share on these soon)! We’ll see you out there providing the best responses possible!

Ranks 1-5 should be pretty easy for you to get through! Simply be part of the conversation and stack up those solutions! Ranks 6+ are for the driven and dedicated users. We're all about solving each other problems here, so getting a Community Accepted or a Dell Accepted Solution is our driving factor.

Organically reaching ranks 6, 7, and 8 can make you one of our TechExperts. The TechExperts program recognizes skilled experts and technology enthusiasts who volunteer to provide answers on the Dell Community Forum. TechExperts also get access to exclusive perks! There are three ways to become a TechExpert:

  1. Raise through the ranks!
    • Once you reach rank 6, you automatically have the opportunity to become a TechExpert, and a Dell representative will contact you. This process is automatic and you need do nothing more than continue contributing valuable information on the Community. The more valuable your contributions, the higher the points allotted and therein, the quicker your path to becoming a TechExpert.
  2. Get a Recommendation
    • Potential TechExperts may be nominated by other community members, current and former Dell Rockstars, Dell agents and Dell partners (like Microsoft). The nominations will be reviewed by Dell team members and awarded based on several criteria
  3. Submit your certifications
    1. If you're certified in the following, you are eligible to bypass Ranks and become a TechExpert. Please contact @DELL-Daniel V or @DELL-Nat M to submit your certs:
      • Dell Technologies Proven Professional Certification Program
      • Dell Technologies Education Services
      • Certified Expert Malware Analyst
      • Microsoft Certified Professional
      • Other MS Certifications
      • A+ Training

Ranks 9-12 would be for our Rockstars! You've been here long enough and shown immense dedication to the Community. You are the backbone to the best answers! Achieving at least 500 Solutions is no easy task either. For that, we thank you for your support! Rockstars receive additional exclusive rewards and capabilities. Achieving a Rockstar status can also be done via Recommendations or Raising through the ranks. We'll be keeping an eye out for those of you who are consistently providing quality answers!

The Dell Community Rockstar program recognizes independent experts and enthusiasts for their community contributions. The Rockstars assist the community in solving technical issues, gleaning product ideas, and helping customers get the most from their Dell products and services.

These key community members play a critical role by sharing their knowledge, as well as representing the voice of the Dell customer.

The goal of the Dell Community Rockstar program is to recognize this invaluable group of influencers and empower them to better assist the Dell Community.

What does it mean to be a Dell Community Rockstar?

Community Rockstars will receive a badge along with a number of exclusive privileges and benefits including invitations to online and offline events.

Dell’s Community Rockstars are:

  • over 100 dedicated individuals sharing their technical expertise
  • located in more than six countries
  • a legacy community who has participated in the Dell Community Forums since 2000 and in the IdeaStorm community since 2007.

How do I become a Dell Community Rockstar?

Potential Dell Community Rockstars are nominated by other community members, current and former Rockstars, Dell staff and Dell partners (like Microsoft). You can also rise through the ranks to this role. The nominations will be reviewed by the Dell Community Support team and awarded based on several criteria, including:

  • Quality participation (i.e. number of verified solutions provided to the community)
  • Product expertise (i.e. number of quality contributions on specific topics)
  • Community leadership (i.e. ability to identify trends and pull together topics of conversations related to the same question/issues; de-escalation and moderation of community conversations; familiar with and informative of the community terms of use)

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else to the Dell Community Rockstars, please contact @DELL-Daniel V or @DELL-Nat M for review.
