laptop screen grays toward the middle of the screen, doesn't block it out, though. just super annoying.

now, my laptop is old (studio xps 1647, they don't make it anymore), so i'm aware that that's part of the problem. but i just want to know if there's any way to fix this issue. it's most noticeable when i'm watching something and the screen is black. i included a picture, the problem area is right under and around the play button, in case you can't see it somehow
